When Jesus read in the temple, He declared His mission to bring freedom to those who had lost their inheritance and fallen into bondage (see Luke 4:18–20 ). The Jubilee represents a double year of rest after the sabbath year, calling for greater reliance on God’s provision and a complete reset for the community.

In the second year of rest for the land, provision would come from the hands of other nations. Their wealth would be transferred to the land. The wealth of the wicked would be returned to those it was taken from Proverbs 13:22. America will live and not die. The city has been desolated, now ready for a restoration.

The faithful in Christ will have provision throughout the Passover of judgment. Keep your eyes on Christ not the storm Isaiah 26:3, speak out what should be not what you see. Speak life, Proverbs 18:21. Walk in the power of the spirit of God. Proclaim freedom throughout the land. Here the liberty bell rang loud this year of jubilee.
