Addressing Sin in the Old Testament

Love your post. Have a question. Is it God who punishes us or is it our damnation of a bad Harvest sawn? I’m thinking of Deliverance in this case a Deliverance Minister will lead a person who seeks to be delivered by a present Spirit into a prayer of forgiveness in order to break the legal right the Spirit has because of sin or Rebellion to God. In the name of Jesus these spirits will reveal the open door in which they were able to come in. Comparing New Testament to Old Testament ritual sacrifices is today’s Deliverance different from Old Testament? In other words do we have an advantage because of the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. What are your thoughts. Many blessings.

When many of us think of sin we are heavily influenced, consciously or unconsciously, by what we remember from the Old Testament. So let’s look briefly at Old Testament concepts of sin; I think it will help resolve some of the problematic impact it has on us today.

The word ‘sin’ in various forms is mentioned about 600 times in the Old Testament, but the concepts involved are not the same. They include offenses by Israel against God, laws to be observed, and temple rituals for sin.
